Now you can transform driving, shopping, or waiting in line into calming experiences of mindfulness. This unique audio course was carefully distilled from Jack Kornfield's most popular retreat, a 5-week workshop on mindful meditation. Kornfield shows listeners how to benefit from the 2,500-year-old system for becoming fully aware of how our actions in each moment create the fabric of our lives. He provides exercises and teachings for starting - and sticking with - a real meditation practice. Kornfield is a cofounder of the Insight Meditation Society and the Spirit Rock Retreat Center.

An excellent introduction to meditation. This is basically a five week course which includes instruction and stories that are loaded with Buddhist wisdom regarding the meditative path. The recording was done at Dr. Kornfield’s retreat and it has a very intimate feel. People ask him questions and he responds with compassion and a lot of humor. Each class includes two 10 or 15 minute meditations in which Dr. Kornfield guides you through, but there is also a lot of silence in which you are to always “return to the breath”. It is really a worthwhile course for anyone that is interested in how to meditate.
