The Bhagavad Gita is one of the primary sacred Hindu religious texts and has been cherished for generations as a guide for proper living. The Gita is a part of the Ancient Indian epic known as the Mahabarata, and is comprised of a conversation between the archer Arjuna and the divine teacher Krishna. As Arjuna asks various questions on the nature and meaning of life, we find in Krishna's answers an instructional framework by which we all might attain spiritual freedom.
This edition was translated by Mohandas K. Gandhi to his native language of Gujurati in 1929, and then translated into English by Gandhi's personal secretary Mahadev Desai. This version also provides additional commentary by Gandhi with invaluable insights on how to interpret certain verses. With Gandhi as a friendly guide, we hope this audiobook will enhance your understanding of the Gita.

Disappointing pronunciations, March 30, 2009
Reviewer: mjp
I would have expected that the narration would have been done by folks who could pronounce the numerous ethnic names and proper nouns correctly & appropriately while speaking clear english!
The pronunciations are appalling and distracting for those who know the context and sound very difficult and unnatural for those who dont.
For a reputed source, this would be the test of a good audio book - the proper pronunciations for translated/non-english works!
