The legendary voice of folk music, Woody Gurthrie, left behind hundreds of songs, including such American treasures as "This Land is Your Land," "Hard Traveling," and "Reuben James." His has influenced generations of musicians from Bob Dylan and Joan Baez to Bruce Springsteen and the Indigo Girls. In this remarkable autobiography, Guthrie presents a vision of America that, like his songs, is not soon forgotten. Guthrie traveled all over the U.S. by boxcar, thumb, and foot during the years after the Great Depression. He died of Huntington's Disease in 1967.
