then I don't know why you would read this. In my Health class of my freshman year of highschool I had to buy the book and read it. It told about a family of people moving from a desert city to a farm where they would make all their own food or buy it knowing it was farmed within a hundred mile radius.

Not only could I just not get into the book, it didn't really seem to be a story as much as a list of ways they did it. Maybe I didn't try hard enough, or maybe I'm not mature enough to understand why anyone would do what they did. But from the standard of a ninth grader, not a good book to read and definately not an attention grabber.
