Write a Review of Medical Practice Management: Financial Management Podcast

meconsulting, February 17, 2006
Reviewer: meconsulting from Calgary, Alberta, Canada

This podcast, hosted by the Greenbach Publishing company who publishes the Journals, provides the listener with direct extracts from the Journals themselves. There is no deviation whatsoever from what is published in the Journals. This podcast is perfect for downloading and listening on the go.

An excellently crisp rendition of the Journals and highly recommended for any medical practioner to listen to current Journals when they don’t have them handy

LOLDavid, February 17, 2006
Reviewer: LOLDavid from Los Angeles, California

Sorry. I felt the content of this podcast pulled directly from the Medical Practice Management Journal was a little dry and the narrator was quite robotic. It may be valuable for those in the medical profession, but for those just interested in medicine it sounded like a corporate bored meeting. I can't say I understood everything being talked about, but then again it didn't draw me in to pay close attention either.

Podcast.Editor@soundpractice.net
Thu, Aug 30, 2007

In this 20 minute podcast, Owen Dahl, MBA, FACHE, CHBC, author of Think Business! Medical Practice Quality, Efficiency, Profits, discusses how much it really costs a doctor (or a practice) to see a patient. No, the answer isn't what you charge for an office visit. A physician needs wise management of costs and an understanding of revenue enhancement to assure long-term success for the practice. But how do you analyze costs in a practice? Mr. Dahl addresses fixed, variable, direct and indirect costs with practical examples of what costs you can control. You may think it is your office supplies - but analysis of your payroll may yield larger savings. Also hear his expert comments about patient satisfaction, your no-show rate, overtime costs, and what it means to the practice to see just one additional patient per day. http://www.thinkbusiness.md
