This sharing, as it becomes available, is as applicable today as it was in 2010 .....perhaps, even more so due to an apparent increase in the number of businesses failing and people being terminated. There is a relative increase in the number of residential contractors who can neither afford bond nor insurance. Co-signers are not where they used to be.
The extreme lack of consistent income among residential contractors has led to (and leads to) very, very high levels of default ......across the board. This continually increases the prevalence and severity of bad credit scores and decreases the trustworthiness of the people affected. In turn, this increases the number of skilled professionals unable to obtain the bond they need to continue addressing related buildings trades issues on legal premises.
Add to this, these individuals find themselves shut out / locked out of the regular employment market. Hence, being overwhelmingly and circumstantially unemployed and unemployable for economic reasons, desperation settles in. At this point, it creates every sort of monster you can imagine out of people who were once regular guys whom, before all the mess, would grimace at what they are doing today.
The sad part is that a lot of these guys do not realize what they have become. They cannot see what they have become: liars, scoundrels, cut-throats, robbers, and major criminals with regard to the private home sector of America. Literally, they cannot see what they have become......neither can all the innocent homeowners and homerenters they prey upon.
Succinctly, many residential contractors who have "crossed over to the darkside" cannot not see that they have become their own worst enemy. Likewise, this blindness spreads to those who would be their victims. Hence, the title of this feature: " The Invisible Man."
Is he really whom he says he is?
Once you are well under way with this very special word, it is hoped that you will begin to fine tune your "X-ray vision."Â By the time you have reached the end, the process should be complete. The reason is that, by that time, you are expected to have fine tuned your research priorities so well that you will from hence forth look beyond all appearances to really see whom or what you will or will not be dealing with.
You must see, the invisible man.
