Podfaded?, December 19, 2007

Too bad this series seems podfaded. It started out really promising. What was done, was done rather well. I never knew much of monasticism, until this cast. I didn't have much grip on pre-1066 British history, until this cast.

In less than 15 minutes, the host of the Medieval Podcast tells listeners about something from that period in history. This episode's topic was the Anglo-Saxon state. The host seemed very knowledgeable and conveyed the information pretty clearly. I really like how he puts links up on his website so that listeners can read more about the topic.
The main problem I had with this podcast is that the host didn't seem to muster up very much entusiasm at any time during the show. I found this particularly ironic since he describes the show as a "lively discussion" of medieval history. This is a relatively new show (there are only 2 episodes available) so there is a chance that he is still nervous or something. There is definitely time for him to improve, so if you like medieval history, you might want to give this podcast a shot.
