Dublin - Three things

• Millennium spire was erected to commemorate the new millennium at the location of what was Dublin's most prominent monument Nelsons Pillar, blown up by IRA.
• Temple Bar stands now as Dublin's cultural quarter. After dark, this part of town is very lively with great smelling food and drink being consumed to beat the band.
• Among the noteworthy students who attended the college were playwright Oliver Goldsmith and orator Edmund Burke. Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift, Samuel Beckett, and writer Bram Stoker who created Dracula were also educated here.
