Starting by examining our earliest conception of sin in the story of Adam and Eve, Wiesel redefines how human beings have interacted with evil and how it can''t be completely divided from good. For him, history''s greatest atrocities and wars were allowed to happen by good people, and in the end he argues that the real struggle against evil is in how we fight our apathy towards it.
