The Trying to Learn Spanish podcast does not actually teach you Spanish. Instead, the host gives opinions and reviews about various learning methods and resources. For example, on one of the past shows he discussed language immersion schools. There have also been several shows in which he did nothing but talk about specific titles of grammar books and dictionaries.

I thought that the episodes I listened to were pretty dry and boring. In my opinion, Rich (the host)has a wonderful opportunity to use his podcast to give listeners an opportunity to hear Spanish words, phrases, and simple conversations. I know that I would rather hear those things than listen to someone drone on -- in English -- about Spanish grammar books for 30 minutes.

Since I am not familiar with any of the books or other resources the host recommends, I can't assess the accuracy or quality of his reviews. All I can say about them is that they were quite in-depth.

For people who are trying to learn Spanish, this might be a good once-in-a-while podcast; I don't think you would benefit from each episode.
