Description

In this story, Nick has agreed to install a dinosaur exhibit at the Loch Ness Monster Visitors’ Center in Scotland. When Nick and the kids arrive at Loch Ness, they help save an elderly man who has had a heart attack after seeing the monster. Nick and the girls take the man to the hospital while Jeff and Ken "stake out" the Loch.

Ken explores an old castle and is kidnapped. Nick and the director of the Visitor’s Center use sonar to locate the mysterious monster. Kris and Mandy drive to Edinburgh to unravel Ken’s clues. The monster turns out to be a high tech fake that is the mastermind of a media mogul.

The story introduces the reader to the geography of Scotland, the British system of monetary exchange, facts about dinosaurs and Nessie, deep-water sonar, and Robert Louis Stevenson, author of Treasure Island. Stevenson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland.
