"How fair the vine must grow
Whose grapes are so luscious;
How warm the wind must blow
Through those fruit bushes."
"No," said Lizzie, "no, no, no;
Their offers should not charm us,
Their evil gifts would harm us."
She thrust a dimpled finger
In each ear, shut eyes and ran:
Curious Laura chose to linger
Wondering at each merchant man."-Christina Rossetti

Write a Review of Goblin Market

Jane Aker's most beutiful rendering awesome!, March 20, 2010
Reviewer: Arash Kamangir
Goblin Market market is a beautiful poem. Readers can easily search and self-educate themselves about both the poem and poet, Christina Rossetti; however, what makes this LearnOutLoud's audio presentation so outstanding is Jane Aker's rendition.
Her voice is a joy to listen to over and over again without ever losing a sense of yearning to hear her just one more time! What Jane Aker reads does become an ageless masterpiece in itself.
The poet walks you through the fruit garden of a mysterious world full of delicious sins and the prices one may have to pay to experience arousing transgressions, and love and patience and inevitability of fallacies of life always clear only in the hindsight...
