Poems by Emily Dickinson (1890) was the first volume of her poetry to be published posthumously. Each of the three volumes, first published in 1890, 1891 and 1896, are grouped into cycles labelled Life, Love, Nature, and Time and Eternity.

'Poems 1890, by Emily Dickinson' is a gem of a collection, the first of the American poet's published works. Here, it is made even more pleasing in its audio rendition by 'Voices in the Dark'. This audio title is divided into four parts, namely Life, Love, Nature, and Time & Eternity, all of which combine to almost an hour of poetry listening. The narrator, Dawn Keenan, does a laudable effort of narrating the poems.
'Success', ' Rouge et Noir', 'In a Library' and 'Exclusion' are some great poems in the first part (Life); 'Proof', 'The Outlet' 'Love's Baptism' in the second (Love);'Mayflower', 'Why?', 'Purple Clover' in the third section(Nature) and 'The Chariot' and 'Emancipation' in the fourth(Time & Eternity). Of these, my personal favorites include 'Success' and 'The Chariot'. This audio book is a wonderful way to spend time, renew one's energies or take a literary sojourn while sitting at the desk. I recommend it to everybody who loves poetry.
