In our continuing effort to provide you with the most inspiring and exceptional self development literature available, LearnOutLoud.com and Zaadz.com present The Guy in the Glass by Dale Wimbrow. This recorded poem is read by Brian Johnson, Philosopher and CEO of Zaadz, Inc. We hope you enjoy listening to this classic work from Wimbrow. Be sure to browse the other poems Johnson has recorded in this series.
The poem has become also known, incorrectly, as "The Man in the Glass" or sometimes, "The Man in the Mirror", but the thought is the same, the message clear...'you can fool the whole world down the pathway of years, but you can't fool the guy staring back from the glass'

'The Guy in the Glass' by Dale Wimbrow is a classic poem, and has definitely become one of my favorite inspirational pieces. It is a poem that tells the listener to be honest and true to himself- that this is more important than winning accolades and praises from others around him. The poet says that in the final analysis, the face staring back at each one of us from the mirror is the one "whose verdict counts most in your life". If we are able to look straight into the eyes of our reflected image, we can be sure that we have done right. As the last two lines of the poem go, "...your final reward will be heartbreak and strife, if you have cheated the man in the glass."
This poem is published in audio format as "The Guy in the Glass" by LearnOutLoud and Zaadz,Inc. The narrator is Brian Johnson, who does a good job of narrating the poem without any unnecessary stresses or pauses. I recommend this poem to everyone.
