Plato founded his Academy — the first university in Europe — during the fourth century B.C. The Roman emperor Justinian closed it in the 6th century A.D. This series of podcasts seeks to reopen Plato’s Academy in an attempt to rekindle the kind of dialogue Plato created to lead his students into examining the most important topics: What is the best possible life for a human being? What kind of community promotes such a life? What is beauty? What is knowledge? What does it mean to be a human being? These podcasts are intended to pose and frame such questions, drawing on Plato’s dialogues for topics but opening the range of possible responses to any and all serious philosophical reflections. Many of the original texts that are discussed in these podcasts may be found both as written texts and as audio performances and interpretations on the Agora Publications website (www.agorapublications.com).

Who are we? What might we become? Discusses many ideas about human beings as more than just a "thinking creature". Enjoy the modernization of Plato's dialogues with regard to our newly scientific knowledge about genetics and human essence.
