In this panel discussion Robert Thurman (preeminent Buddhist scholar), Phillip Kitcher (Professor of Philosophy of Science), and Finny Kuruvilla (Medical Doctor) comprise a learned and religiously diverse panel that speak frankly about their own core beliefs, and takes questions about the problem of evil, comforting the sick and dying, and the nature of truth. The range of responses of this group that contains a Buddhist (Thurman), a Humanist (Kitcher), and a Christian (Kuruvilla) provides an interesting dialogue and a useful survey of the way different worldviews address some of the most pressing of questions.

LearnOutLoud.com Review:
Christian, Buddhist, or Secular | Three advocates argue for their differing belief systems in this downloadable audio lecture released by the Veritas Forum. Christian, Buddhist and Secular perspectives are each given equal weight in addressing humanity''s long quest for knowledge and meaning. Issues such as religious fanaticism, the existence of evil, the afterlife, and social justice are all given balanced appraisal in this remarkably even- handed debate. |

Thurman and Kitcher were entertaining but quite full of themselves.
They both had liberal views that tainted the dialogue a bit. Kuruvilla was sincere and tried to compassionately convey his feelings.
