KCRW’s Second Opinion Podcast is a brief weekly podcast delivered by Dr. Michael Wilkes. The podcast I reviewed discussed the importance of paying attention to tests before patients are discharged from a hospital setting. The physician cites scientific research to support his commentary. The host delivers concise information that consumers and healthcare professionals will find useful.
Another podcast I reviewed was on the issue of nurses going on strike. I am in the nursing profession so I found this podcast especially relevant. The doctor asks some tough questions surrounding this topic. He brings his professional and personal thoughts to the forefront on this difficult topic. He doesn’t strive to give answers, but rather to stimulate questions that each individual involved in this debate must examine for themselves.
