Content review: I've done a fair amount of yoga in my life and my (somewhat biased, I'll get to that in a minute) is that no one is a better person to learn the practice from than Bryan Kest. Santa Monica Power Yoga is a great introduction where you'll go through a challenging, but very doable, 90 minute routine.
I have the extreme privilege of living only a block away from Bryan's studio (hence the bias) so I've gotten the opportunity to attend the live class. The CD is a great complement to the class and those who've attended before will find the routine very familiar. And if you haven't attended the class before, you'll get a glimpse into why the Power Yoga studio is one of the most popular in LA, if not the country.
My favorite part of Power Yoga is that I come away from every session feeling that I got more than just a physical benefit. Bryan does a remarkable job of providing center, balance and common-sense to his students. It's welcome reprieve from what might otherwise be crazy, chaotic lives. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who is interested in using yoga to become physically, mentally and emotionally stronger.
Audio-specific review: I listened to the CDs which were about 90 minutes in length. The audio quality was very good, especially considering that this was a recording of a live class. The only (minor) drawback of the recording was because it exceeds the capacity of a single disc you do need to change it mid-way through the routine. Other than that, I give it two thumbs up.
