Terrific 30-minute discussion of all things psychology from Australia's ABC Radio National. Host and science journalist Natasha Mitchell is very knowledgeable and has interviewed folks like Steven Pinker, Dan Dennett, and others in psychology, neuroscience, and even philosophy. I've blogged about many episodes.

The podcast I reviewed was hosted by Natasha Mitchels. It is an MP3 of a national radio broadcast so the production quality is excellent. The podcast I reviewed included an interview with Cognitive scientist Guy Claxton who presented some fascinating insights concerning the unconscious. Other podcast topics have included Nueroethics and the 21st Century Brain and The Origins of Memory.
The focus of this podcast is all things related to psychology. This is one of my personal passions and interests so I will be a regular subscriber to this podcast. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone with similar interests.

A mish-mash of popular science research of the mind. The telegenic guests seem to always be on the verge of a breathtaking new discovery, or at least a few novel ideas which will provide them with university tenure. Recreational drugs seem to be a popoular topic.
This is a syndicated radio program which sometimes syndicates (but does not podcast) content from the BBC, which makes the program descriptions a little confusing. Production and audio quality are professional and radio quality. Programs are 25 minutes.

I love psychology and I found this podcast from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation to be very intelligent and fascinating. The host interviews leading psychologists in Australia who are experts in a certain aspect of our minds. I listened to a podcast which psychologically deconstructed the modern day self help movement and it was great. Every week it looks like a new excellent topic. I'm subscribing to this one.

2008-08-16 The Stuff of Thought with Steven Pinker
Author: ABC Radio National Sat, Aug 16, 2008
Why do we often avoid speaking our mind? Does swearing have an evolutionary function? What do linguistic taboos do to your brain? How are new words born? Acclaimed author of The Language Instinct and How the Mind Works, Harvard psychologist Steven Pinker is a self-confessed verbivore. To him language offers a window into the human mind and how it works. He joins Natasha Mitchell in a feature interview to argue there´s nothing mere about semantics.

2008-08-09 Being your own therapist - Buddhist style
Author: ABC Radio National Sat, Aug 09, 2008
Venerable Robina Courtin, acclaimed Australian Tibetan Buddhist nun, has excavated the suffering mind at its greatest depths of despair. Founder of the Liberation Prison Project, she´s helped thousands of inmates release themselves from the prison within—their mind—using Buddhist techniques. Venerable Tenzin Palmo was one of the first Westerners to be ordained as a Buddhist nun, spending years undergoing intense meditative practice in an isolated cave in the Himalayan mountains. We can all be our own therapist is their powerful claim.
