The National Public Radio's 7 AM News Summary Podcast is broadcast daily at 7 a.m. Eastern Time from Washington. Along with newsreader Paul Brown, the podcast also includes reportage from the ground. It is a news equivalent of a pocket-dictionary. It gives a short but comprehensive roundup of important events from within the United States and around the globe.
The October 14 podcast, for example, reports the latest situation from Pakistan, a bomb blast by insurgents in Iraq, Bush's negligence of intelligence reports predicting the situation in Iraq once Saddam Hussain was removed, flood warnings in certain U.S. states, Carl Rowe's appearance before a grand jury, flight restrictions in Chicago O'Hare Airport, and the naming of a 100-day panda in Washington. This podcast gives the news in a single capsule. I recommend it to all rush-hour office-goers and busy executives to get a summary of the day's news.
