Tacoma Cat Hospital Podcast

Tacoma Cat Hospital Podcast

by Dr. Craig Smith

The rumors are true; Dr. Smith absolutely adores his iPod, and yes, he has a name for it. In that spirit, he is pleased to offer an ongoing series of Feline Medical podcasts to help cat fanciers learn more about the unique and interesting issues that occasionally afflict our feline friends. These mini-lectures are in MP3 format and should be compatible with any and all MP3 players including any computer that has iTunes, Windows Media Player or Real Player (all free software available for both Mac's and PC's).

J.E., February 17, 2006
Reviewer: J.E. from Chicago, Illinois

The Tacoma Cat Hospital podcast covers topics pertaining exclusively to cats, such as how to take care of a new kitten and how to control feline flea problems.

The host is Dr. Craig Smith, a licensed veterinarian in Washington state. Because he is a vet, you can be sure that you are getting medically accurate advice and information. Dr. Smith frequently encourages listeners to email him with any specific questions or problems that they have, which makes this podcast a great resource for cat owners.

Dr. Smith does a fantastic job of putting medical topics in terms that non-doctors can understand. He is well-spoken, and this podcast sounds great, especially considering Dr. Smith is just doing this as a hobby. If you already have a cat or if you are thinking about getting one, then you definitely would benefit from this show.

This podcast is absolutely necessary for anyone who has a cat or kitten. Dr. Smith covers the areas that are the most important, the prevention and treatment of fleas and other diseases. I especially enjoyed the New Beginning episode, in which Dr. Smith discusses everything that you need to know before taking a new kitty home. I certainly wished that I had listened to this show before I took my kitty home, as it would have clarified the confusing shots and treatments process. I certainly hope that Dr. Smith will discuss cat behavior in the future.
You can tell that Dr. Smith truly loves what his jobs and his patients. The enthusiasm and love that he has for cats and kittens just shines through his voice.
