This podcast is not so much a travel show where the hosts go on exotic adventures, but an audio-diary of a couple's road trip across no name America. Ken and Karen go about their daily lives and it seems, sometimes, that they forget they're doing a show. That aspect drove me a bit crazy but others might find it part of their charm. The audio is not that great. It is hard to hear Ken and Karen a lot of the times because they have such soft voices and they are often muffled by outside noises. I found the episodes where they interview people they meet on the road to be much more interesting.

Interesting Similarities
podcast@mcbyrdbell.com (Out Here on the Road)Author: Out Here on the Road Fri, Nov 24, 2006
I noticed a striking resemblence between the smiles of a current pop icon and a certain villain from the Batman movies. I found a cool free photo morphing program and made a movie using Microsoft Movie Maker. Have Fun!

podcast@mcbyrdbell.com (Out Here on the Road)Author: Out Here on the Road Sun, Oct 29, 2006
(Episode 142) Episode 3 of 3 from (much less) rainy Gaithersburg, Maryland. How much trouble can one bed-bugger possibly get into? Download and find out! (BTW, I was asked by the local security guard to vacate the area.) Understandable, since I was still idling on the curb after 11 pm, tapping into someone's wonderful high-speed WiFi. The guy was as nice as could be, so I kindly agreed to relocate to the shopping center down the block. Home sweet shopping center!

(Episode 137) Another home movie!!!
This was filmed on August 20th at a rainy truckstop in Paducah, Kentucky. Thrill at our amazing technology as I actually record a video of Karen's camera playing a video of the storm recorded only moments earlier. Can you handle the strangeness of it all?

Byrds of a Feather
podcast@mcbyrdbell.com (Out Here on the Road)Author: Out Here on the Road Mon, Jul 03, 2006
(Episode 126) Karen astutely recognizes some very compelling bird sounds. Also, the use of the word "plethora" compells me to include this short audio segment in our podcast. Could this word be influenced by a previous episode of "Ren and Stimpy"? We would hope not, but then again, "Look, Ren, all this time I had a whole pocket full of quarters..."
