Description
Author P.J. O'Rourke was interviewed about his life, his career, and his writing. He responded to viewer telephone calls and electronic mail. A video clip was shown of Christopher Hitchens commenting on Mr. O'Rourke in a 1993 Booknotes program. Video clips were shown of Mr. O'Rourke in his Washington, D.C. apartment. In one clip he talked about his writing habits and in the other he gave a tour of his art and artifact collection. Mr. O'Rourke is now a correspondent for Atlantic magazine and a fellow at the Cato Institute. Formerly the editor of National Lampoon, he has written for such publications as American Spectator, Playboy, Esquire, Vanity Fair, House and Garden, The New Republic, The New York Times Book Review, Parade, Smart, Harper's, and Rolling Stone. He is the author of over a dozen books, including Republican Party Reptile, Holidays in Hell, Parliament of Whores, The Enemies List, Eat the Rich, All the Trouble in the World and Give War a Chance. His forthcoming book, to be published in January 2007, is On the Wealth of Nations.
