William Kristol is editor and publisher of The Weekly Standard. Widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading political analysts and commentators, Mr. Kristol is also a regular on ABC’s This Week. Before starting The Weekly Standard in 1995, Mr. Kristol led the Project for the Republican Future, where he helped shape the strategy that produced the 1994 Republican congressional victory.

Prior to that, Mr. Kristol served as chief of staff to Vice President Dan Quayle during the Bush administration and to Secretary of Education William Bennett under President Reagan. Before coming to Washington in 1985, Mr. Kristol taught politics at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

Brit Hume is managing editor and chief Washington correspondent for the Washington, DC bureau of Fox News. Prior to joining Fox in 1997, Mr. Hume worked for 23 years at ABC News, becoming its White House correspondent in 1989. He contributed to World News Tonight With Peter Jennings, Nightline, and This Week.

Early in his career, Mr. Hume worked as a newspaper reporter for the Hartford Times and the Baltimore Evening Sun, in addition to United Press International. He’s been named twice "The Best in the Business" by American Journalism Review. He is the author of two books, Death and the Mines, and Inside Story. In 1991, he won an Emmy for his coverage of the Gulf War.

Michael Barone is a senior writer for U.S. News & World Report. Barone grew up in Detroit and Birmingham, Michigan. He graduated from Harvard College (1966) and Yale Law School (1969), and was editor of the Harvard Crimson and the Yale Law Journal.

Mr. Barone is the principal co-author of The Almanac of American Politics, published by National Journal every two years. The first edition appeared in 1971, and the 15th edition, The Almanac of American Politics 2000, appeared in July 1999. He is also the author of Our Country: The Shaping of America from Roosevelt to Reagan (Free Press, 1990). His essays have appeared in several other books, including Our Harvard and Beyond the Godfather. Over the years he has written for many publications, including the Economist, the New York Times, the Detroit News, the Detroit Free Press, the Weekly Standard, the New Republic, National Review, the American Spectator, American Enterprise, the Times Literary Supplement, the Daily Telegraph of London, and the Italian publication Libro Aperto.

Mr. Barone is a regular panelist for the McLaughlin Group, and has appeared on many other television programs and networks, including the Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, Meet the Press, This Week, Today, Good Morning America, Hardball, Crossfire, the British Broadcasting Company, ITN of Britain, the Canadian Broadcasting Company and the Australian Broadcasting Company.

Mr. Barone lives in Washington, DC. He has traveled to all 50 states and all 435 congressional districts. He has also traveled to 37 foreign countries and has reported on the most recent elections in Mexico, Italy, Russia, and Britain.
