LearnOutLoud.com Review:

 Lead the Way to Justice
In this speech, delivered in the year he was assassinated, Dr. King looks back on his life and hopes he will be remembered as a "Drum Major for Justice". King sees the importance in the "drum major instinct" that drives us to lead and be recognized, but points out through Christ''s teachings that the greatest leaders are those who serve others and put justice before their own gain. This 20-minute speech is available on streaming audio from History and Politics Out Loud (the last sentence gets cut off but it is the full speech).

prophetic inspiration across time, November 27, 2006
Reviewer: shanahan

this sermon has it all, from the classic mlk cadence and extraordinary oratory skills to the staggering resonance of his words against our american empire - his message is for us: we must reckon with his political and societal acuity: we must come to grips with his messianic brand of christian justice: we must learn, as individuals and as nations, to drum loudly for a new societal vision of equality and love - for without a change of course, we will be smitten by the force of god or some other greater power on earth, rather than smitten with drumbeat of love and peace: you may not agree with the message, but the delivery is more than worth the listen - enjoy
