Seneca
Stoicism is one of my favorite philosophies. What we know of this classic Hellenistic philosophy is based primarily on the texts produced by its three primary sages: Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, and Seneca.

I learned so much in a short time. Mr. Johnson's voice is easy to listen to and his remarks & explanations are helpful.
Everything changes in time, and yet they stay the same.
I am going to make a point of learning more from Seneca.

Seneca was a Greek Stoic philosopher. 'Zaadz Notes: Seneca' is an audio title written and narrated by Brian Johnson of Zaadz,Inc. and published by LearnOutLoud. It gives an overview of Seneca's life as well as the Stoic philosophy. The narrator divides these notes on Seneca into four primary parts- his life, major work, Stoicism and favourite passages from his works.
The narrator begins by telling us about Seneca's major work- Letters from a Stoic, which talks about developing habits and following the will of nature. He slips in an interesting fact that I doubt few of us know (at least I didn't)- Seneca is believed to be the founder of the essay! He was a contemporary of Jesus and a tutor to the future emperor of Rome, Nero. He would later be forced to kill himself as Nero saw him as a threat to his throne. The narrator then gives a brief explanation of Stoicism, and ends with some of his favorite passages from Seneca's works.
Brian Johnson does a great job of narrating. I especially commend him for his choice of material and anecdotes. This is a great audio title for anyone who wants an introduction to Seneca.
