A reviewer in The New York Times Book Review writes that Ignatieff “tells us how to do terrible things for a righteous cause and come away feeling good about it.” Ignatieff, the Carr Professor of Human Rights at the Kennedy School of Government, is the son of a Russian emigre father and a Canadian mother who studied at the University of Toronto.
