A social connector website, Facebook serves the information needs of students who have perpetually in-flux social networks. As a result, frequency and penetration of student use is remarkable. In this presentation, a longitudinal analysis of Facebook use by freshmen at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will be presented.
