The Slate Magazine podcast is produced by the online magazine of the same name. It is a very short podcast (less than 10 minutes) in which one of the magazine's editors, Andy Bowers, reads a featured article from the current edition.
I thought this podcast was pretty good and would be convenient for those who can't (or just forget to) check out the Slate website every day. For someone, like me, who is always online, it's probably easier to surf over to Slate.com and skim the article rather than listen to the entire thing. It's well-executed, but not something that I can see myself subscribing to.

I think the length of Slate's audio articles are just perfect for a podcast. They're read well by Andy Bowers and they cover the latest issues and events in politics and culture. The writing is of high quality as is the audio presentation and the narration of the articles is presented well so it doesn't sound like someone is just reading to you. Slate always has interesting writers to put forth their opinions and what better way to get these ideas out there than a podcast.
