It's rare that the media ever reports about itself and how it affects the news it is covering. Why would the media ever need to question what it is doing? Thankfully for this type of coverage there's "On The Media". This podcast from New York Public Radio analyzes the way the media and journalists are shaping our world and forming the current events of today. Their critical analysis is not afraid to point out where journalists are being silenced or how media coverage is being used to manipulate the public. I consider this show crucial to ones understanding of current events and because it is critical of mainstream news outlets it is perfect for the new medium of podcasting.
