Write a Review of The Health Report Podcast

Reviewer: girijad83 from India

The Health Report podcast by ABC Radio National (www.abc.net.au) is an interesting weekly podcast exploring new views of health related issues. It talks about issues like cancer screening, its benefit and harms, and stress and breast cancer, and gives a broad definition of these health topics, along with the social, scientific, and political context of these illnesses (i.e. the legal issues, the social implications, and the scientific viewpoints) related to each illness. This podcast is the first podcast of its kind that I've seen.

The audio can be improved by matching the volumes of the speakers in an interview. The narration is good, but you might miss out a few words if you are not an australian, due to a bit of a heavy australian accent in the pronunciation of some words. This is an important health show. Not to be missed!

Caesarean sections - part one of a two part feature Caesarean sections are on the rise. In Australia one in three babies are born this way, and once a mother has one caesarean she's got at least a 50% chance of having another one in a following pregnancy. The rising rates have got some people very worried. There can be serious consequences of caesareans, for both mother and baby, and they're not talking about it. In the first of a two part special Nicky Phillips looks at what factors are driving our caesarean rates.
