(16:44) 7: Remind yourself of people who had the juice, but lost it

95: 7 reasons why you lack motivation

Fri, Oct 14, 2016

67: Denny "Diz" Krahe: Long distance running expert, "Diz Runs"

Fri, Jul 08, 2016

Today, I talk with long-distance running expert Denny "Diz" Krahe. Alright, I admit... By this point you probably know that running isn't necessarily my expertise... However, I've picked up some excellent advice from Diz that I'm definitely putting into practice for when I lace up my shoes for my next run. Running long distances takes a hell of a mindset to push yourself to keep going. If you're listening to our convo today, and you're a runner, you're in for a treat. If you're thinking about picking up some running shoes to take this sport seriously, let Denny be the one to convince you to start the race!

Some Questions I Ask:

  • What inspired you to start running?
  • As a coach/trainer, what are some things that your audience struggles with?
  • How would you coach an athlete who's antsy, or lacks patience?
  • How do you define "mental toughness"? And also, the lack of (it)?
  • Do you have advice for someone who's interested in becoming a runner?
  • What are some of the most impactful books you've read?

63: 3 things athletes say but don't really mean

Fri, Jun 24, 2016

In this episode, I cover a common issue within today's average athlete. Are you familiar with those clich? phrases tossed around by your teammates? If you've heard a specific friend of yours say something like, "gotta get that daily workout in bro" or, "I drink a gallon of water a day, easy"... If this rings a bell, be aware of the talk next time you hear it. Challenge your teammate, see if he/she really lives up to their words. Today, I review three prominent and specific sayings; with examples of staying true to it, as opposed to being "all-talk". If you feel like you can relate to this episode, maybe it's time to work on that authenticity. Let's grow!

Key Points:

  • Reviewing the BEAR results matrix
  • 3 common clich? phrases among athletes
  • Living up to your words, versus being "all-talk"
