Professor Dan Mages graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Master’s College with a BA in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Bible Exposition. He earned a Clear California Teaching Credential from Cal State San Bernardino and taught English for a combined three years at both Coachella Valley and Norco High School. He attended Fuller Theological Seminary for two years and graduated with an M.A. Interdisciplinary/Comparative Studies with an emphasis in World Religions, Christianity and Ethics from Claremont School of Theology. He now teaches Philosophy and Religion as an adjunct professor at Chaffey College, Saddleback College, Mt. San Antonio College, and Axia College.
Professor Mages has traveled to nearly thirty countries, presented at several theological conferences and has been published in A Journal for the Radical Reformation. He is a former youth director at the First Congregational Church of Riverside and community organizer with Inland Congregations United for Change. Professor Mages founded Hunger Truth, a project designed to apply intellectual honesty toward religion, politics, health, the environment. He held weekly gatherings called Truth Conversations where experts and professionals conversationally shared their perspectives and allowed participants to dialogue with them about their expertise.
Professor Mages considers himself first and foremost a truth-seeker. A former Christian, he now identifies as an Earthling, World Citizen, Vegan, Humanist, Utilitarian, Determinist, Socialist, Communist and member of the Zeitgeist Movement. He essentially wants to inform, inspire and empower others to bring about a world where everyone has access to healthy, cruelty free food, clean air, pure water, housing and healthcare.
