Eugene H. Peterson is a respected Presbyterian pastor, scholar and poet. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Seattle Pacific University, a Bachelor of Sacred Philosophy from New York theological Seminary and a Masters in Semitic Languages from Johns Hopkins University. For 29 years, he served as pastor of Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, Maryland. Peterson retired from the pastorate in 1991 in order to devote more time to his writing and teaching. Following this, he was the Professor of Spiritual Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia until his retirement from teaching in 2006.
