Val Goldsack
Val is a liturgical composer of contemporary psalm settings, canticles, sacred songs, a singer & guitarist and publishes her work with JHN Liturgical Music, producing CD's that focus especially on Morning & Evening Prayer - closely based on The Prayer of the Church. She has recorded a solo CD 'Light Divine' produced by Colin Mawby with Richard Lewis and is published by Kevin Mayhew. Her latest prayer CD - which was recorded with Fr. Anthony Storey is 'Loving God'. A new CD 'There is a season', recorded with Sr. Monica Butler is to be released in early 2008. She has worked as a pastoral musician in the Diocese of Middlesbrough since the late 1970's to encourage both young musicians and singers in their parish music groups , and also, assisting with liturgical music for the mass in various parishes around the Middlesbrough Diocese. Although Val currently plays and sings on a regular basis in several parishes in the central parishes of the Middlesbrough Diocese, she is based at her home parish of Holy Name of Mary in Linthorpe. Val is a member of Bishop's Council for Liturgy for the Diocese of Middlesbrough in UK
