What is a BioView?
BioViews cross a number of different boundaries including education, history and business. They also combine fact and fiction. However, BioViews are not strictly defined by any of these categories. By their nature actually define their own genre and offer a new way to access knowledge and gain inspiration.
The BioView Genre
Anyone can enjoy a BioView and it’s likely that everyone that reads one will take something slightly different from it. They combine two very popular formats:
Interviews, which are in effect story views, based on:
- An interpretative approach and research approach about a person’s life.
- Content is written from the first person viewpoint.
Biographies that are normally:
- Authorized biography where the individual consents and collaborates with an author
- Unauthorized biography, where the book is published without collaboration.
BioViews are, in a sense, unauthorized biographies but the first person singular writing style gives them the feel of an authorized biography.
