The first of these two talks was given on the final day of the second annual Self-Realization Fellowship Convocation, August 26, 1951. SRF members from all over the world had gathered in Los Angeles for a five-day program of classes, meditations, and special activities. Paramahansaji's talk was given at the closing event, held on the grounds of the SRF Mother Center on Mt. Washington. The audience, seated on the tennis court in front of the Administration Building, was first addressed by several SRF ministers and disciples of the great Guru, each of whom paid loving tribute to him and to the other Masters behind the Self-Realization Fellowship teachings—Mahavatar Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, and Swami Sri Yukteswar. Following these speeches, Paramahansaji spoke from the second-floor balcony of the Administration Building, which overlooks the tennis court. His words were amplified by loudspeakers and recorded by SRF monks. The second of the two talks on this recording is Paramahansa Yogananda's beautiful address at the Easter Sunrise Service held at the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine, Pacific Palisades, California, on March 25, 1951. Playing softly in the background during the Guru's talk is “Om Song,” one of Paramahansaji’s Cosmic Chants, performed on the organ.
