I wasn’t too impressed with this series of lectures from Sounds True. I came into it not knowing much about Taoism and Ken Cohen was pretty dry in his description of this religion. Since I was driving I couldn’t do the meditations but they didn’t really sound all that interesting. Mr. Cohen emphasizes that the way of the Tao is beyond words and he talks a little about the Lao Tzu, but he isn’t really good at discussing Taoism for a western mind in the same way that Alan Watts was so good at illuminating Buddhism for modern thinkers. I guess I’ll have to look elsewhere for a better introduction to Taoism.
