Modern historians tell us that the Canaanites were blood brothers of the Jews. Hebrew and Phonician were one and the same language. The Phoenicians were based in what today is northern Israel and Lebanon. Their cities of Tyre and Sidon were the wealthiest cities of their day. Inventors of the alphabet, they made literacy possible for most of the human race. But their religion featured child sacrifice.
