Douglas Adams Audio

Biography
Born in Cambridge in 1952, Douglas Adams is the beloved creator of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy and its various incarnations as audio books, audio programs, and radio plays. Hitchhiker's phenomenal, award-winning success led to a series of sequels, most of which having been adapted successfully into other mediums in their own right. Known for his incisive wit, and a particularly absurdist sense of humor, Adams has culled a massive audience of devoted followers over the years.

Unfortunately Adams passed away in 2001, but his fanbase and their devotion has only grown since then, and shows no sign of ending anytime soon. LearnOutLoud.com is happy to present Adam's work on audio (most of which is read by the author) with the hope that you will find the same joy that millions of people have derived from Adams' work over the last 25 years. So come aboard, have some fun and always remember: Don't Panic!

We Recommend
When it comes to Douglas Adam's work, the only place to begin is The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy unabridged audio book narrated by Douglas Adams himself. This best-seller endeavors to explain why the universe is a lot safer if you bring a towel. This is the only reliable, somewhat accurate reference guide to the universe.

You then might want to continue your ride through the galaxy with The Restaurant at the End of the Universe also read by Douglas Adams, which follows hapless Earth man and Hitchhiker hero Arthur Dent as he searches for a nice cup of tea. However, the restaurant in question offers much more than food and drink. With this audiobook you'll find that eating is in some ways the key to understanding every galactic civilization in history.

Finally there's the posthumous book The Salmon Of Doubt, Adams' last book before his untimely death. Rescued from his beloved Macintosh, this audio book allows us the opportunity to linger and frolic one last time in the mind of Douglas Adams. Simon Jones and a cast of talented voice actors bring this final tale to life and do their good friend proud with a hilarious selection of novellas, essays, and laugh-out-loud short pieces. Whether you are a newbie to Hitchhiker lore or an old hand at navigating the byways of the universe, LearnOutLoud.com has everything Douglas Adams has to say on the subject.
