Center For New Thinking

Center For New Thinking

Over the past 29 years, a large number of people in the metropolitan Detroit area have been meeting regularly to confront the basic issues in our society. They are attending the Center for New Thinking, the nation's only ongoing public forum for the presentation of innovative ideas in the arts, sciences, philosophy and history. The Center is reminiscent of the bygone era of salons when ideas were passionately communicated and shared.

Sherwin T. Wine opened the doors to the Center in January, 1977. Dynamic and charismatic, Wine stuns   newcomers with his ability to relay ideas and information with clarity, and with his genius for drama and humor. As chief lecturer, Wine transforms every presentation into a work of art. Founder of a new movement in Jewish life called Humanistic Judaism, Wine is a rabbi, philosopher and teacher.
