Rescued from his beloved Macintosh, The Salmon of Doubt provides us with the opportunity to linger and frolic one last time in the uniquely entertaining and richly formative mind of Douglas Adams. For the millions of readers who expressed their grief and shock at his untimely death in May 2001, this is it: his final book and our last chance to see new work from an acknowledged comic genius.

This work includes the title novella; essays on subjects near and dear to his heart, including perception, computers, and Bach's Brandenburg concertos; laugh-out-loud short pieces; and transcripts of Hitchhikers Guide to the Future radio scripts. One last glimpse of Douglas Adams before we go.

Performer Simon Jones met Douglas Adams in college and the two became great friends. Jones was an actor in the original Hitchhiker's Guide BBC series, immortalizing the character of Arthur Dent.

Stephen Fry is a well-known actor, writer, and satirist. The star of the award-winning motion picture Wilde, he is the author of Hippopotamus, Making History, The Liar, and the best-selling memoir Moab Is My Washpot.

Christopher Cerf was instrumental in the funding of Sesame Street and helped launch National Lampoon. A close friend of Adams, he wrote the introduction to The Salmon of Doubt and is the book's official spokeperson in the U.S.

Zoologist and author Richard Dawkins became close friends with Adams after the author responded to his fan letter regarding Hitchhiker's Guide. He delivered the eulogy at Adams' funeral.
