Father Roderick Vonhogen, the priest that produces The Catholic Insider podcast, also puts out the Praystation Portable podcast, thereby cementing his position as one of the most technologically savvy priests I have ever heard of!
Praystation Portable is put out twice a day, once in the morning (matins) and once in the evening (vespers). Each podcast contains a prayer that is between 5 and 10 minutes long. I think this is a great idea for people who want to participate in priest-directed prayer, but who can't attend daily Mass.
The prayers themselves come from something called "The Liturgy of the Hours". I am not Catholic, so most of the podcast was not recognizable to me, but I did hear the "Our Father" and a couple of Psalms, too.
Overall, I think this would be a very useful podcast for someone who, as I said earlier, can't make it to Mass every day. Four stars.
