Caedmon Audio

Dylan Thomas made his first recording for Caedmon Records on February 22, 1952 of "A Child's Christmas in Wales and Five Poems". Dylan Thomas went on to record many readings for Caedmon Records. These recordings not only launched Caedmon Audio, but they also launched the spoken-word industry as well.

For over 50 years now Harper Collins' imprint Caedmon Audio has consistently published classic literature, drama, and poetry read by the authors or by reknowed actors. Along with Dylan Thomas they feature many poets reading their own work such as Charles Bukowski, Robert Frost, Allen Ginsberg, and others in their "Caedmon Poetry Collection".

They've recorded many full cast productions of William Shakespeare's plays. They also feature many modern literary classics and short stories by authors such as Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac, and Edgar Allan Poe, along with audio collections of Noel Coward, John Updike, and John Cheever. They have published rare recordings of authors such as Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce, J.R.R. Tolkien, and William Faulkner. Browse the rich collection of Caedmon Audio.
