This was a treat to listen to even for a non-Los Angeles native. These little peeks into life in the entertainment community are witty and to the point. Everything you ever wanted to believe about how people behave behind the scenes in the entertainment business is really true! Well maybe not everything, but the host tells his tales in a wry, self-deprecating fashion that will have you chuckling and shaking your head about life in Los Angeles and its inhabitants.

I pretty much despise the wheeling and dealing of Hollywood agents, handlers, and high rollers mostly because you look at the product they put out and wonder why they wake up in the morning. So when it comes to hearing about the rules they live by I could care less. If Rob Long was out to make fun of the behavior of these people then I would respect him, but in this short podcast he's talking about it as a witty observer trying to learn how to be a Hollywood insider. When I see these people in Los Angeles with their lingo and their leased SUV and their aura of self-importance, my first instinct is to run in the other direction. I'd rather hear about normal people.

Look, let's not get into politics, okay? Too incendiary, and, frankly, my politics, as I've discovered from years of working in Hollywood, aren't really in line with most of my colleagues. I've heard stories from people who are more on my side of the fence, politically, of being denied jobs or shouted at on sets, but my experience has been generally fine – at best, I've been ignored; at worst, the object of a hilariously condescending curiosity, like, "Um, you're a Republican? But, how can that be? I know you. And you're not, like, a terrible person..."

I heard a story recently that may or may not be true, but since it
perfectly conforms to my prejudices and biases, I'm going to just go
ahead and tell it, act as if it's true, and not bother to pin down its
accuracy. Okay? Here goes...
