Actor. Comedian. Author. High-school wrestler.
Al Franken. All American.
Back and better than ever in the second season of his fearless and irreverent talk show, Al unapologetically takes on right-wing politicos while simultaneously confounding expectations of what political commentary is supposed to be. Recorded live in the Air America studios, "The Al Franken Show" is a one hour version of the spicy-hot radio program from the former "SNL" writer turned political attack dog. Along with co-host and trusty sidekick Katherine Lanpher, Al lambastes notorious icons of the conservative right while amusing guests from the entertainment and political worlds. Past guests have included Sen. Barak Obama, Michael Kinsley, Bobby Kennedy Jr., G. Gordon Liddy, Tina Fey and Meg Ryan, among others - you never know who's going to show up next.

This podcast gives listeners clips from interviews conducted on The Al Franken Show, which is a regular radio show. Some past guests include Robert Redford, first-term Illinois Senator Barack Obama, and former Democratic presidential hopeful Howard Dean.
I like the fact that Franken is able to get such well-known people on his show; it made listening to the interviews a lot of fun. The topics discussed were all relevant to current events, so listening to this show would be a good way to keep up-to-date on what's going on across the country, and to get some analysis of important events.
The content falls to the (far) left of the political scale, so I don't think this show will appeal to everyone. Because of that, I am only giving this podcast 3.5 stars.
