A weekly podcast about a recent news item in astronomy done by gen-xy astronomers. We try to be irreverent and humorous and occasionally we get the facts straight.

Write a Review of Slacker Astronomy Podcast

J.E., February 17, 2006
Reviewer: J.E.
from Chicago, Illinois
The Slacker Astronomy podcast is a very cool way for people who have a casual interest in astronomy to catch up with what is happening in the greater universe. The podcasts are pretty short (only about 10 minutes), so you won't have to commit much time to listening.
The entire show is scripted, and you can tell that the hosts are just reading the dialogue. This gives the show a bit of a "canned" feel, but it's not too bad. The hosts bring a lot of enthusiasm and levity to the show, which does a lot to overcome the canned effect.
Each show is packed with information about a single topic, such as Pluto and its moon Charon, superwind, and some dangerous phenomena in our solar system and beyond. I listened to several of these podcasts and I found all of them to be very interesting and informative.
This podcast is a fun (and understandable)way to learn about astronomy. I definitely recommend subscribing to it.
