Kudos to WGBH for sharing this video with LearnOutLoud.com.
David Lynch is an extrordinary artist who credits "diving within" through TM (Transcendental Meditation) with changing his life and his world.
Dr. John Hagelin Ph.D. is a brilliant scientist who tells of the benefits of TM from a Quantum Physics perspective.
Dr. Fred Travis has been researching human brain development and states of consciousness for over 20 years, with more than 40 published papers. Dr. Travis presents a live demonstration of the brain waves of student Shane Zissman who is wired to an EEG (Electroencephalogram)while he meditates.
So impressive were the benefits of TM on Lynch's life, that he created the David Lynch Foundation. The David Lynch Foundation's mission is to ensure that any child in America who wants to learn and practice Transendental Meditation can do so. In an effort to aide the development of the full creative potential of the brain and mind, improve health, reduce stress and improve academic outcomes, the foundation provides scolarships for students to learn the technique and to receive follow-up instruction to ensure mamimum benefits.
Lynch states "Research and experience document the profound benefits to society as a whole when our children dive within. Individual peace is the unit of world peace. By offering Consciousness-Based education to the coming generation, we can promote a strong foundation for a healthy, harmonious, and peaceful world."
Lynch, Hagelin and Travis all present their material in an impressive, engaging manner, while using humor and creativity to make the presentation enjoyable. It provides a lucid prescription for peace, and developing one's full creative potential.
