The Intercollegiate Studies Institute Lecture Program assists in sponsoring lectures each year at the college, university, and preparatory school levels. ISI makes available top scholars and nationally known speakers to lecture at campuses across the country. These events examine both popular topics, such as affirmative action and core curriculum controversies, as well as perennial concerns, such as the nature of freedom and the best forms of government. ISI's lectures are rooted in fundamental principles and the enduring Western intellectual patrimony. Alan Charles Kors is Full Professor of History at the University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches the intellectual history of the 17th and 18th centuries. He has received both the Linback Foundation Award and the Ira Abrams Memorial Award for distinguished college teaching. Dr. Kors graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1964, and he received his M.A. (1965) and Ph.D. (1968) from Harvard University, in European History.
