Introduction to Your Mind "Awareness in the Now" and "A Change of Mind" Two guided meditations by Mi Ka El. These guided meditations take the listener straight into some of the deepest insights of mindfulness practice. "Awareness in the Now" awakens you to the witness consciousness and to the awareness of the Higher Self or Divine Self, our individualized aspect of the Universal Intelligence, while "A Change of Mind" leads to the recognition that our focus determines our experience of life and that all "suffering is optional," as the Dalai Lama reminded us. In "The Power of Now" and in "The New Earth" Eckart Tolle explains the difference between the false self, the ego, and the true Self of open minded awareness and free will. These meditations help you to access this center of awareness and peace in yourself right now. We only know a truth if we discover it within our own minds. So please, let me invite you to sit down and recognize that you are not your thoughts and emotions but a free and peaceful Self connected to All That Is.
To come to the desired results such mindfulness meditation should be practiced two times daily for 20 to 30 minutes. Further recommended resources: Eckart Tolle: "The Power of Now" and "A New Earth."
Alan Watts, "Who Am I," free ipod here at learnoutloud.com. Together with Tolle this can serve very well as a deeper introduction to the meditations. Thich Naht Hanh, CD's here at learnoutloud and his book: "The Heart of the Buddhas Teachings" Joseph Goldstein, book: "Insight Meditation: The Practice of Freedom"

The main obstacle that would-be meditators encounter is how to quiet the mind: You close your eyes and your brain begins serving up thoughts of all sorts… fears, worries, hopes, wishes, your “to do” list, and on and on. For most new meditators, the mind can easily whirl out of control and leave them frustrated instead of at peace.
In these two free guided meditations by Mi Ka El (”Awareness in the Now” [under 9 minutes] and “A Change of Mind” [under 12 minutes]) you will get direct and practical experience flexing your mental muscles and learning to rein in your thoughts. I wish I had known about and used these items when I began to meditate. I believe they would have helped me. In any case, I will return to them frequently for help…"

I'm sorry but I couldn't get passed hearing him breathe, his accent and the word "nostril".
